Bad turbo or something else?

I searched around and found these problems occurring seperately, but not together. I just replaced my head gakset (Cometic .057 inch), lifters, motor mounts, and headstuds... As soon as I got the car back from the shop, a few problems started to occur. First, I noticed my egts are high. Cruising at 3000rpm im hitting 1500F. Secondly, I seem to be getting some oil out of the exhaust, not a lot, but noticeable. Lastly, the turbo seems to not pull any longer. It spools up and I can hear it blow off, but it seems as if a lot of the air is lost somewhere. I checked for leaks, but found none. Im getting 20 in hg vac and 11 lbs of boost, but just feels nothing like it did before the head gasket swap and all. Maybe my turbo is shot.. any thoughts?

check your waste gate actuator in my laser the cotter pin broke causing the actuator do nothing keeping the wastegate fully open so no boost would build up so just check to see if it is hanging there and re-attach it with a new cotter pin
 
That would explain the little bit of lost boost, but nothing else... And I am not loosing all my power, it just feels as if the engine gets nothing until it boosts high enough to make it there. That was why I was assuming a leak, but I cannot find one. Any one else have any ideas for the high EGTs? Ill have a logger on it soon to get a readout, but until then, I just want to know if anyone else has had similar problems.
 
Hmm, you had some head work done, and now suspect the turbo?

I'm not quite sure of your logic as to why, but...

If you did something to the head, and it worked fine before, and doesn't now, I would suspect the head...

It just seems like the logical conclusion.

did you recheck the timing belt? Might be off a tooth which could cause a small loss of boost and make it really lazy until at high boost and can cause high egt. Why did you have a shop do your work for you?
 
Actually Ninety7GSX and I did all the work. Everything except the motor mounts, and it turned out the top layer of the gasket folded over on the front corner when I was putting the head back in. I did not have time to mess with it again, so I sent it to Abacus to fix the problem and put the mounts in. The timing seems to be fine. We re-did it 2 times but I will check it again and see if thats the problem. Thanks for all the help fellas..
