I just installed a autometer A/F gauge and it worked for a few minutes and then quit, if I get on the gas hard it will kick on but the second I let off it quits again(the lights) is there a trick to these things. I tapped into the O2 sensor wire at the ecu.

The A/F meter ONLY reads during WOT. It's just something to get used to. There's nothing wrong. It should go back and forth while crusing, then up somewhere in the RICH when you're at WOT. Off when engine braking. Does this help?

Ya it sounds like its working right.

Im not trying to hi-jack but ive had mine for a month or so now and all its ever do was stay on the very last green light. i hooked it into the place in the passenger kick panel. I dont think its my O2 b/c i get good mileage. Any ideas.

Once again sorry about me askin, its just bothersome to me to have a guage and not have it work.

only read at wot? i was thinking about getting one, are they even accurate? do they serve a purpose besides looking neat? or do i have to get a wideband to get accurate readings?

Wideband gives you accurate readings throughout the whole throttle travel. They're just expensive. If it's in the green all the time, something is wrong. When at WOT, it should be in the green - if not you're too lean. The ECU will pull timing and your car won't be as strong because the ECU is probably seeing knock.
