Decent price for T-belt job?

I am going to have the timeing belt and water pump changed in my 90 tsi and he wants $450, is that price to high?

I have not priced a T-Belt replacement job for some time, so I can't really answer your question. However, be sure to also have the B-shaft belt replaced along with the T-belt. They don't cost much and can take out a good T-belt if they should break.

Is the 450 for just labor, or labor and parts? I'd say that's a good price for labor and parts, but I had mine done at a Mitsu dealership for 275, no parts included. If that's just labor, I'd go somewhere else......

just buy the parts your self the tb replacment is not that hard but it will take 3 hours (knowing what your doing) so if you want to get someone else to do it it should only take 3-4 hours no more or that person should not be doing the job
