Lakefield,
Ok I have an issue with my 1996 Eclipse RS.
I had the motor rebuilt a while back(october) blew the motor in it about a week after, the car has been sitting since as its winter and no time to work on it.
I went to take a look into it and i tried to remove plug #4....Well the plug will spin free no hanging up or anything. BUT the plgu WILL NOT come out of the head. I have no oil that leaked out anywhere, no block damage or anywhere externally that i could see.
We had the motor running after it was rebuilt but didn't seem to run right. It had no power untill 3k rpms and it stumbled on accel from a stop. I would have to bring it up to 3k again to get going.
I was on my way home and the motor made a loud pop noise. It sounded as if a rod broke or something came through the block. Car died instantly. I have an Oil pressure gauge installe at the time and i am always looking at it(paranoid of low oil) It was reading fine, pressure wise, then when the car died pressure went down like normal, was not an instant pressure drop just a normal decrease as if i shut the car off my self. I should also add the motor will not turn over.
I haven't pulled the head off yet, hopefully soon as its starting to warm up. My guess is i may have slammed #4 Piston into my head and smashed a valve. I felt all around the block and looked all over and saw no holes in the block.
What does it sound like to you?
