Driving to class yesterday I reversed in the parking lot, smelled some oil burning, parked, then saw the smoke coming out of my hood. Looked at it after class and couldnt see any visible sign of where the oil might be coming from (my best guess was the valve cover gasket having a leak or something). So I drove home, watched the temp and oil pressure...nothing abnormal. No smoke on the way home, no smell. Parked the car after a 20 minute drive, lifted hood and heard a hissing noise. It was too dark to tell exactly what it was from but it was coming from the passangers side.

Any ideas?

Oil leak huh? Welcome to the world of DSMs ;)

The hissing is prol your coolant settling.

As for oil leaks.. check the valve cover gasket, oil cap gasket and oil dipstick (tends to blow out when the gasket goes bad).

Perhaps it was the cap, because I took it off, reversed it to say stuff upsidedown and when I went home there wasnt a leak anymore. So, off to get an oil cap gasket or two tomorrow.
