Did a Boost Leak Test.. Now it smokes blue smoke???

Blue smoke is from burning oil. There is usually some oil inside the intake air pipes & it sounds like your testing helped some of this oil get into the motor--if so, should clear-up after awhile. Keep a close eye on your oil dipstick just to be on the safe side

Boost leak tested it 30psi. This could not have disrupted the HG? I have about 500 miles on this new head gasket. Arp studs torque to 100lb.
Maybe I should retorque them? I didn't retorque since I put it together.
Thanks George

won't hurt the rings doing the leak test....btw the cylinders develop hundreds of psi compression in built motors and about 150-180 in everyday motors (around there)....the smoke may be from a bad turbo...since the symptoms may have been what made you check for a boost leak in the first place...?:dsm:

A lot of people make the mistake of doing the boost leak by connecting the adapter on the Turbo inlet. When testing 30 psi you are pusing the oil seal since there is no oil pressure on the other side. You might have heard a gurgling sounds during the test since most likely the pressure would push the seal an enter the combustion chamber.

So what your saying is that I blew the seal on the turbo.

I was just checking for leaks. It wasn't smoking at all before the test.

I don't think you will blow the seal just push oil past it. This is just a theory so don't get scared. Best thing would be to contact someon in a Turbo sho like FP and ask them about it. I talked to Robert at FP and this is how I found out about this a while back.
