Windshield Wiper Problem

Ok guys so my driver side windshield wiper is out of commission. When I turn them on only the passenger side goes. Anyone ever have this problem????? Let me know.....

Rattles, grinding, rubbing, clunking? My blind guess is the pushrod's fallen off the arm. Or, the flayshaft's gone askew of the treadle.
