new boost gauge 15 psi normal???

hello. i am new to turbo's and dsm's but i bought a 98 gst. and i installed a blitz bov and an autometer boost gauge. and the boost gauge reads higher than i feel like it should. when i slam on the gas in 3rd 4th or 5th, it jumps up to 15 or 16 psi real fast, then it slowly climbs down to maybe 12 or 10. isn't this too high? i thought the stock boost was 12 psi. am i wrong? it's bone stock other than the bov and the boost gauge, it only has 34k miles on it, i bought it off of the original owner. any help and advice will be appreciated. thank you.

15 does seem rather high but your stock bov leaks at 12 psi so replacing that could of gained a few extra psi.

oh ok. forgive my stupidity but like i said this is all pretty new to me, are you saying the stock bov will open up when you make 12psi, for example even if i got the gas mashed to the floor for a long time it will jut open up when i hit 12psi and keep the psi down? the reason i ask is because my blitz bov is LOUD so i can hear it everytime it pops off, and it only pops off whenever i let off the throttle, if i just slam it to WOT it will jump up to 15psi real fast then just slowly climb down like i said earlier but the bov will not open untill i let off the throttle. it doesn't matter if i dont even make any boost (according to the gauge) i can let off the throttle at very low rpms, and my gauge still on the vac side, (no boost made) and hear my bov woooosh!.

osunds like its spiking, my car did that in 2nd. I guess my clutch just slipped from then on But uh, is this in the t25 then? i guess it would be you did say stock. do you have any intake mods? like k&n or sumthin.

No i have totally stock except for the blitz bov. and the autometer boost gauge.

where did you tap your boost guage at? I hear it will say much higher if you tap it at the turbo...

I tapped the boost gauge on the hose that runs off of my blow off valve.

its the other hose, the drivers side of the intake manifold
