Well I installed an afc last night and the stock boost gauge no longer works. I of course have a boost gauge, so I know I am fine there, but the AFC also is not reading any air flow. I am guessing there is either a problem with something I hooked up or with my mass air sensor. Any Ideas? On a side note I will admit I have not been working on these cars for long, in fact I just got my talon not too long ago. Thanks for your advice!

Is it setup to Karmann Type Sensor? Our cars use that type. IF you have it on anything else, all hell breaks loose.

The wires were switched. Everything works great now. The important question is where to start as far as the settings go. Anyone have some suggestions. I have full 3" exhaust, no cat, and a 3" downpipe. The o2 housing has been ported. I have a stock fuel system. The engine is completely built with 95 piston heads. I just bought the car, so there are likely things done to it that I do not know about. It belonged to the owner of a tuning shop 2 owners previously and he is the one that built everything. I do not have UICP, but I will be getting that soon.

head over to the tuning forum now. :D

And try to have it tuned by someone who knows what their doing, with a logger or something.

Good luck!

if your on stock injectors.. cant really do nothing yet, when ya get 550s, set everything to -15% and go from there with yer tuning..

i have a 1997 gsx automatic and i have the apexi s-afc i and when i go to monitor and click on air flow i see nothing moving no numbers or percentage but everything else is working would u know why?

For Karman type air flow meters, seen on select Mitsubishi and Toyota models, there will be no air flow reading. There will be an incorrect air flow reading for pressure sensor vehicles.

That was from apexi so that is most likely your problem.
