Belts squealing after less than a year?

Last winter, my belts started making a horrible screeching noise. I had a shop replace all of them. Now, less than a year and 12K later, the screeching is back, worse than ever. The shop said that they can only warrant their work for a period of 90 days. I've tried diagnosing the problem myself, only to find that none of the belts are loose or worn. Belt dressing does nothing. Does anyone know if this could possibly be caused by a bad bearing on the a/c, ps, or alternator (thus making the pulley harder to turn and causing belts to slip)?? The cold weather is definitely a factor, because the problem magically disappears once the car is fully warmed up.

Someone please help, my car sounds like crap!! :barf:

Yeah I had this same problem. All belts were tight but they would still squal at start up. Found out the problem today when the crank pulley seperated from the dampener. Might wanna check urs and just make sure its not on its way out. Check for cracks in the rubber.

colder weather will make the belts shrink.
thus a slightly tighter fit.

once they heat up, they expand.stretch back to normal,

might be your problem, might not.

actually when i had the shop work on my car last year, they actually found that the harmonic damper was the culprit. they replaced it, and replaced the belts at the same time, just becuase they already had them all off. forgot to mention that in my first post.
