so i followed vfaq.com's way on how to solder the stuff and do it all, but the car still runs like crap at idle when i rev it it seems like it is gonna die...? what is wrong? all the wires i think are right i followed the diagram.
 
What size injectors? I think it will make your car run really lean with 450's. Or I could be wrong, but I tried putting a 2g mas on with 550's becuase I heard it would work without a AFC. But it didnt. It was making my 550's lean. So I covered the slots on the side up to richen it and it worked fine. Have a friend cover up the two slots on the side while you start it up and I bet it will stay alive and let you rev. Mine did the exact same thing. It ran like crap, you have to get a afc when you do this.
 
ive got an afc a walbro 255 and 660's i doubt it is running lean.. i need to richen her up anyone know any settings? +10 at idle?
 
I think you have something hooked up wrong. I had a 2g mas on my talon with stock injectors and it ran fine. I did have a 1g AFC on the car, but I didn't have to adjust it any for it to run correctly. Although, no two cars are going to act exactly the same. Not many people have exactly the same aftermarket setup.

I think it is a VERY good idea to have at least an AFC when you put a 2g mas on a 1g. I don't think you need 550's until you start putting 300hp to the ground.....but then again, that was just my setup.
 
ive got a built engine, groden billet aluminum rods, je pistons, hks head gasket. ported head, 60 trim turbo, Fmic the fuel i mentioned above, avcr afc, pocketlogger and the list goes on, i should be around 400 hp, if not a little more
 
is the 2g mas hacked or have any honeycombs removed?

I had a hacked 2g mas that was giving me some trouble. I then switched to an unmolested stock 2g mas, and ive been troublefree since

If you need to richen it up that much, i'd say try tuning more in. Although with that 255 and 660's, you should have no trouble at all. if anything you'd be running rich, not lean.
 
Instead of the 2G, I would have swapped to the GM MAS and translator. Easy as hell, and you can tune it but turns of a switch.

thats the same guide i used. Worked like a charm. Its not all that hard really..unless someone sent you a sebring maf.

and you never mentioned if your maf was hacked or not.
 
i dont think it is a sebring maf, and uhh..... it is not hacked
and i wont hack it, i hacked my 1g maf and that is why it is all ####ed
 
Same thing happened to me when I wired my 2G MAS into my 1G n/t. Ended up logging a CEL of barametric pressure sensor and intake temperature sensor. 2 of the wires signlas wasn't being read by the ECU. I did individual connectors to the 2G MAS and missed two wires that I thought were connected. I had exact same symptoms.
 
your problem could have been it was a 1g n/t. anyways i got the problem fixed, i just tuned her, and drove her running fabulous almost 400 hp.:thumb:
