Yesterday I slapped on my 3' DP. I also changed my valve cover gasket and the spark plug tube seals because the far left one was leaking oil all over my valve cover. Everything seemed ok until the car warmed up and I drove it around for a while. Now, every time it gets up to normal operating temperature, it doesn't like to idle. (at stoplights, in neutral...wherever) Along with the idle problem, I now have a dipstick that pops out.

With the removal of the cat and addition of the DP, my boost is at 15psi. It went up from 14 with the addition of the DP. There are no other leaks around the valve cover, and the fluid levels all seem to be normal (excluding the small amount of oil it blew all over my hood).

The BISS is A-OK and set at 700 RPM.
Could it be the PCV valve?
Would that affect idle?

Thanks,
Symple

Bump and some more info . . .

The car doesn't idle surge at all. Idle drops to 700 when I take it out of gear. It stays right around 700 for a second and then drops low enough to kill it. It doesn't actually matter if the car is moving or weather or not I let the clutch out. As long as there is no load, it drops and dies.

The car fires right back up after it dies.
(note to self, never test that on a curvy road again :p )

Thx,

I also had the promblem with low idle. I have heard that the idle screw likes the get loose and work it's way out.. I just fix the idle evry time it gets screwed up.. I useally set my idle at the 1 or just below it..

I fixed the dipstick. I'll try the BISS o-ring tomorrow. I've been reading and apparantly it can be the ISC motor too... I might look into finding a replacement on friday.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Priced that damn ISC...almost $300. Umm. No. Cleaned the throttle body today, it was pretty dirty... helped everything but the idle.

The biss and o-ring are fine. I can smell gas when the car is running. I checked all the vac hoses today when I had everything apart, looked fine to me. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Symple
