Overboost problems and power problem..?

I have had my car a few weeks and have done a lot to it.It barely ran when I first got it but have done lots to it .Now finally it seems to be running pretty good but it seems to have another couple problems with overboosting and at same time feels down on power.

I recently just checked and found a boost leak on the upper intercooler outlet and fixed it with jb weld it appears fine.But even before that is seems my boost will go way past 10 and pretty sure it nears 20psi when you keep your foot in it but I don't as know not to run this high a level on stock injectors and fuel pump right now.

I just installed a new turbosmart boost controller..buddy has same one and it seems to work perfect in his subaru. I am sure its in right it has an arrow that is supposed to point to waste gate and t'd the other end off blow off valve line. I have turned it all the way down..it has positive and negative on the dials.

Now I also added n1 downpipe with no cat and n1 catback and have gm maf and maft also with k and n type filter.Thats about it for mods.

Is it normal to have super high boost with the above mods.I don't think its boost creep it seems to go right to twenty but I back right off when it does that.
I did take off the rod on the wastegate to check something else and then pulled it back to go on the wastegate .Is it ok to pull the wastegate rod out with pliers to get it on the wastegate end or did I screw up something.

I am not using the factory bcs anymore. And the other funny thing is the car doesn't really feel that fast you would think it would feel like a rocket at this high a boost right but maybe the power is all being lost from knock or something not sure.

I don't have a logger so not can't really tell you guys much else..
Any ideas would be appreciated.I really can't see the car having anymore boost leaks.I have a leak tester and pretty sure got them all.

What are the symptoms of a sticking wastegate or bad actuator.??

Actually had an idea..maybe should try my boost controller on buddies car and vice versa in case I got a dud..Someone said you could direct hook up the turbo outlet pipe thing to the wastegate directly to test to see if the wastegate is working right.Is this a good idea.?

Something else kinda weird is before the intake leak fix it seemed I would hit fuel cut right away when I went wot.Today it didn't hit fuel cut
but again it didn't feell like a super high boosted 14 b either.

I guess another idea is wouldn't the 1g stock blow off valve vent off the excess at 16 or 17psi anyway..??? or faster I guess if its hitting higher that would maybe explain why it don't really seem fast if the boost is just vented out at 18psi or something..
 
My car just had the same problem when I put a 3 inch exhaust on. I put a O2 eliminator and downpipe with external dumptube with catback and eliminated the cat, along with a 255 fuel pump. I set my boost at 15 and it would stop then shoot to 20psi then hit fuel cut. My turbo was too small for the exhaust and my injectors were too. How big is your exhaust? If its 3inch it might be the cause of your problems. Injectors, AFC, or Turbo might help. I would also check for boost leaks too. Turbo and Injectors solved my problem.
 
I have apexi n1 and its 3 inch catback and n1 downpipe which is like 2.5 iinches but necks to 3 inch and has no cat.And I just have the stock 14 b.And not sure if this also makes it worse but have 3 inch gm maf and the maft.I thought boost creep was gradual though .My car seems to go right to tweny psi.I can hear blow off working on shifts though.Like I said it don't seem very powerful either but mabye due to knock or the blow off opening.I am not getting fuel cut today was though a few days ago.Leaned it out and seemed to get rid of it.Haven't heard any knocking or pinging.Just got 91 in there.
