I was driving my Non-turbo Dsm today and out of no where it just stopped. Didnt make any weird noises didnt sound like anything broke the engine just died. Nothing in the engine bay seems broken. Plugs spark, starter is turning i even smell gas if i try to start it for to long but for some reason it just wont start. I even tried replacing the coil pack with a good one i had just in case and still the same nothing. I have no idea to go from here the only thing i can think of is the fuel pump but like i said i can smell the fuel if im turning it for awhile...PLEASE HELP.....

thanks

Check the basics, fuel, spark, valve timing. After that check the ECU and the CAS.

Let us know what you find.

Either a multimeter or 12v test light. You sure you got the blade back the correct way? There is a stamped mark on the end which designates #1 but I can't remember which way it points. As I recall it's not an obvious mark for it just looked like a rough casting edge.

Can you go into detail on the CAS timing/aligninng process, please?

I'm sorry I can't at the moment for my son has the book in his car and he's not here. I can't find the proper description for this setting for it involves grounding designated pin(s) so the cas can be changed. You should have a manual for you can't depend on these web pages to give you all the info needed. On top of that I'm not a DSM expert, but decades in the auto industry allow me to recognize the commonality between engines and cars.

Anyone help him out with the exact process?

Cheers,
GTM
