i changed my spark plugs a while back and was wondering about this. I noticed that all the spark plugs were black, at first i didnt pay it any attention i thought it was normal, but ive been reading and it sounds like i have fouled plugs from carbon deposits. this is what i found on mach V
for what causes it: Possible causes are too cold a plug, overly-rich air/fuel mixture, or faulty ignition wires or coils.

are there any more causes? i dont think its to cold a plug, it might be running rich(i know i was for like 4 days, is that long enough to foul them?) or the wires...but i dont even now what coils are i dont think, can sumone shed sum light on that for me?hehe

the plugs look sorta like the top ones on in the pick but not exactly but really really really close. Ill put up sum pics of mine when i find my camera o yeah and im running bosch platinum

okay i cant find my good camera so i have to use this old nasty one. you couldnt really see other pics i took cause the camera sucks, but it looks just like the top plug in that other pic i put up, and that stuff rubs off. but i noticed this on this plug only the other plugs didnt have this, the top looks burnt, is that a sign of a bad wire or coil(still dont know what coil is)???

That thingy that all the wires plug into is called the "coil pack." I would get new plugs and wires and see what happens. Get NGK plugs and Magnacore or NGK wires. Dont know about Platinum wires but Platinum plugs have a tendency to run hot and are bad news for DSM's. If its the same thing with the wires that could be why its burning your plugs. You can get new plugs and wires for around $100.

It looks like the spark plug wire boot was not properly seated onto the plug. (not touching 100%)
