newbie fuel question

ok, heres the problem guys and girls. . .i have a 95 talon esi, and the lever for the fuel door is just inside the driver door. i lift the lever to open it, then when i release the lever, it goes down and locks the fuel door back up, so i have to find some way to stick something in there to keep the lever up. . .is there any way to fix this so i do not have to keep sticking sh*t in there to hold up the lever? thanks for you time, patience, and understanding

if you open the fuel door it should "jump" open and you need to push it to close it after refilling your tank. if it does not jump open you are missing the spring that makes it "jump". our ESI has the same problem but my girlfriend drives that car and she manages to open the fuel door with her car key

I had this problem too. I had to bend the metal bar that holds the fuel door so that it opened easier.
