need help quick..got a few questions about no power and suspension

well i've noticed drivin my 95 talon tsi that when i step off the gas in 3rd or 4th the rpms drop to 500 then go up to about 1200 and when i step back on the gas i get rpms but no power or change in speed. i really need to step down to get a noticeable speed change. the only mods i have at this moment is a k&n filter and free mods. i adjusted the throttle cable and its as tight as it can be before keepin the throttle plate open. i can't think what it might be besides a leak. now about the throttle cable on my gas pedal i have some play on it, it has about 1/2 to an inch of movement before stoppin, can i fix that?? and heres the last one i have a thumping sound in my rear driver side wheel, its only at slow speed and even on smooth roads, the tires are relatively new so i'm thinkin it might be something else. any ideas?? thanks for the help

-Is it 5 sp or auto? clutch might be slipping. you only have an K&N? but in your profile show some mods.

its an auto. the mods list is for my other 95 talon. i have two cars just got the new 95 talon with just the k&n filter as a daily.
