Fuel pump relays

Just installed a Walbro 255 LPH, and everything was running fine.

When the car was cycling down, after the glorious voyage, the car just died. No sputtering, nothing, it just died.

Upon a wiring check, it seems that the fuel pump is not getting any power from the MFI relay (which is still good) to the pump. What the hell is going on?

And, after further analysis, the fuel pump relay in the passenger compartment works fine.

There's a few possiblities here, that I can think of.

1. ECU is royally fkkked (caps).
2. Grounding problem at the fuel pump?

What do you guys think?

And one more thing, the red and white wire coming to the Fuel Pump Relay in the passenger compartment is the ground, right? Where does it go to from the relay? Straight to the pump?

I can't be stuck without a car on Monday... Exams!!!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Well, no. It goes to a transistor in the MFI control unit, which then goes to ground. I don't know what will happen if you try to skip this, but you may have found out.

Problem Solved

Thanks, anyway, but I figured it out myself.

That fuel pump bracket has some sharp edges, so it cut the hot wire, thus grounding it out on the chassis. I covered it up with some plastic wire loom stuff, so it's all good.

THEN I neglected to put the brown spacer on the fuel pump.

Stupid is, as stupid does...

Oh, now my alternator's shot.

It's just one problem after another...
