I know that this sounds like a stupid question and I am sorry, but i need to ask. I have a 1990 talon tsi awd. Mods are full 3" turbo back, uip, intake, and mbc. The car has almost 150,000 miles. Should I Rebuild the motor or get a new bottomend? The car is sooooo slow when i start it up and sometimes backfires if i floor it. I know that it needs a new clutch, lifters, timing belt, and turbo. Is that the reason for how crappy my car is running. Also i do have a problem with the idle. But i think that the worst thing is the lifter tick. I also got a quote from a shop arond me for all the work (clutch, lifters, timing belt, water pump, all new belts, and flywheel-all with install) almost 2,100 dollars. I still need a turbo. I need help on this decision. Please help. Thanks.

-Do a compression test to sort of determent the condition of the internal, your problem sound more like fuel related.
