hey im a new member as you can tell. i bought a 91 talon last saturday drove it for 2 days and after i tried to start it again it wouldnt start.

now i have tried to almost everything ive read on this board(searched for many hours) and still cant figure whats wrong with it.

so far this is what i've done:

thought it was flooded(i still think it is) let it sit for like 1 day and tried again. same thing.

replaced spark plugs cleaned the area they sit in and tried. didnt work.

now this is what i did my self. i took it to the mechanic and they were like this is flooding too much. i read up a little more on flooding on these boards and dsmtalk and found that the ecu on these cars is weak and sometimes can cause this to happen. my question is before i go out and replace the ecu is there anything else i need to check?

i took the car away from the mechanics since they were dumb asses(all they did to check the problem is try to start it 4 times in 2 hours). anyways thanx for any responses.

ok bud heres the deal, take ur plugs out and leave the holes exposed, then try starting the car, letting out all the gas, u will prolly see it shooting up everywhere. dont worry thats just letting it get cleared. u also mite wanna purchase a new ecu, that mite also be for the best since u have a older 1st gen talon. i think all of that will make ur car run better

thanks for the idea dude. but ive already took the plugs out their holes and tried that way...made no difference...my question is i need to know is there anything else to try before i go and replace the ecu. i have no access to another 1g talon/eclipse/laser to test out my ecu. i dont wanna blow $200 CAD and then see the same problem is still there.

but thanks for trying to help. :)
