Car holds back power....

Alright, i have a 95 GST and it has a weird problem. It's been there since i bought it (it's at 103xxx miles right now and i bought it at 87xxx). What it does is when you get on the throttle...say mat it at 40mph...the car accelerates, but you can just feel that there is more power that isnt getting to the wheels. I know that sounds odd, but i know it's there. It was there when it was stock and now that i have a dave brode UICP and 1G BOV it is even more noticible. I am near positive it isnt CW....i have no clutch sticking or any other syptoms. But i cant figure it out...its almost like it's not getting enough gas or something. Well thanx for any help guys,

check the lines for the fuel pump and all the ic piping. you may also want to check your headgasket and turbo gasket

Find someone near you who can datalog the car. The first question I'd have is whether your timing is being pulled. Do your lifters tick?

Yeah, they do tick...I have been wanting to get them replaced for a lil while, but just havent gotten to it yet.

My 97 n/t does the same thing right about third gear it just laggs like crazy and I cant figure it out eathier.

Jtm- Hey....i was wondering.... You asked about my lifters? Is that a sign of your timming not being right? I was just wanting to know more about what the lifters would have to do with this problem. Thanx for the help guys

Ok...so what your saying is that i dont really need to retard or advance my timing, right? All i need to do is get new lifters and that will hopefully do it for me...right? Sorry, im learning as i mod....I came into this sight knowing about enough to strip a lawn mower engine, . But i've learned quite a bit and plan to continue

Do you have a boost gauge and an MBC? If so, how much boost are you running?

No, i dont have either . I wish i did, but i dont quite have the money right now with only being 18 and still in H.S. But i assume you are wondering b/c you think i might have a leak?

either way, i have the same problem, except i have a bunch of problems in my engine to adress. i think i have every problem that would cause the lag
my head and valve gaskets are pretty bad, i have to check my turbo, my timing is a wee bit off and i could be wrong but my clutch could be going. *sigh*
I'm about to repair some stuff and have it put on my mechanics data computer to see if he can pick up anything, have the appt. on thursday, i'll keep an update
