wtf? wrong 2g MAF harness? how many diff. kinds are there?

my mechanic is like, wtf, it wont work? Is there something im missing here? why are these 2g harnesses different? am i screwed? what do i do?

im thinking, maybe, 2g talon and eclipse wiring is different?

Possibly one is turbo and one is non-turbo. But if you look closley they have the same amount of wires. They both have 7. Some of the colors are different though...

I just checked my bro's 2g talon tsi awd. same car as mine, but 2g.

His harness is the same thing that is currently in my car. Same colors.

Im guessing now, that the seller sent me a non turbo harness. Fvck!! IS there anyway around this?

I know that there IS a difference between turbo and non-turbo but Talon to Eclipse I have no idea.

Ah, so you can confirm for a fact that the MAF harnesses are different from n/t to turbo?

beh. someone should have told me this. is there any information the net telling that turbo's NEED turbo maf's?


What would happen if you put a non turbo maf on?

I've read that the turbo ones are mitsubishi and the non-turbo are made by chrystler, I actually read it on this sight or else it was DSMtalk.com. try searching for 2g mafs, its in here somewhere. As for putting them on, I have no idea

Umm, I think I have an extra MAF harness. However, you can probably get that one working just fine. Msg me telling me the exact orientation of the pins and what color each pin has, so i can tell you what to hook up to it. As long as the pin orientation is the same you're fine

Well, you can see which colors are which in my pictures. But, if you'd like me to message you and tell you which order the pins/colors are, i will do so.

wow, I just got around to reading this post today. That is some jacked up stuff my friend. Have you contacted the person that sold you the maf. You should give him alittle ear full. Also, if you can see if you can use someone's 2g maf that you know works, from a turbo car. I know if you lived around my house I would let you.

Turbo has a MAF
Non-turbo does not have a MAF

therefore, that plug is not from a non-turbo

Indeed i am. Not sure where to go from here. Moosh is being a kind gentleman and trying to help me diagnose my problem through PM's, but if anyone else can try to help me troubleshoot, please do.

So, It started with a MAF CEL code. Replaced the whole MAF, and a new harness.

I know my ISC motor is bad, so i ordered a new one. Due here on wednesday. I hope that can somehow help or relate to my problem.

What else can i do from here? any other issues that may concern a MAF error code?
