new head, a few probs

hi, i have a 93 tsi awd with a 90 engine. Just put a remaned head on. My problem is that the engine falls flat on its face at 4000 rpm and up. The stock boost gauge climes like it always has and shows about 12 psi at 5500-6500 but i cant feel it. I can hear the turbo spool like it should. On the way home from work I was going 65 in 5th gear, down shifted to 4th, put my foot to the floor and the car SLOWED DOWN, WTF! Also, it takes several turns to start the car....sometimes it will start, run a for a second and stall....when I start it again...it will be ok. Dont know if the problems are related or not. Any help would be cool. (Car is 100% Stock) Thanks

I'm assuming you did the head yourself? Check for boost and vac leaks. You probably forgot to tighten one of your IC pipes or connect a vac hose. Start with the easy things first.
