Ok i have searched for this and i haven't found one exactly like mine. It's prolly just me being a dipshit but it's been nothing but a mess. I have a 3" o2 eliminator turbo back exhaust. Well apparently i received the wrong part and all i could hook up was the first piece (o2/downpipe). So after driving it the power dimmed severely and eventually the car went dead. Now i didn't reconnect the ground wire as it didn't reach and the 2nd o2 sensor is just sitting there. I don't know how much a coincidence it would be that my alternator would go out at the same time. The car is 60 miles away and i need to know all of the problems/solutions before i go there because i have no way of getting on a comp there. Could it just be the ground wire or is this what happens when the o2 causes it to throw a cel? My uncle is supposed to disconnect the battery and maybe it'll reset itself correctly. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I know it sounds stupid for what i did, but after not receiving it for over 2 months i wanted it on and when i realized it didn't fit it was too late and i had to get back home. But anyway, bombs away.

-I doubt that the car die simply by not connecting the rear O2 sensor, might be the alternator is bad like you said or a huge boost leak.
-Driving the car with just the down pipe connect mean the exhaust gas is coming straight out, did you burn anything under the car?

Ok guys i need some help on this. I'm not close to my car (60 miles away) so i have to have an idea before i go there. Would throwing a cel cause the car to lose power and drain the battery completely dead in a short period. The exhaust is now completely on and my uncle said it still does it. So i'm not sure what has been done with the ground wire or o2 sensor. Would this cause it. Or a faulty alternator or maybe just a fuse? I really need some help on this. I read on vfaq about rewiring the o2 to do away with it so maybe i need to do that????? And you could hear the clicking from the ecu when my flashers were on when i broke down. Thanks.

Having a dead alternator would cause your battery to drain relatively fast.

Yes i know that. I need to know things that could cause it that aren't so obvious. I just seems like a coincidence that it goes out at the same time. I've got that covered. But thanks.

check the wires running to the o2 sensor, and make sure they arre not melted/grounding out... i had this happen recently and didn't notice it... before i knew it, i had to replace my entire wiring harness due to burnt wires, and had to replace my bat. due to a dead cell....
