well, i just got a talon tsi awd 92, if you had seen on my earlier posts anouncing it, well, the gas gauge is messed up im assuming becuase of someone not doing the walbro pump install correctly, but any ways, im trying to figure out why i only got 180 miles to 15 galons of gas...my car kept turning off and i had to keep crankin it back up whenever i came to a stop, i figured i had like at least 1/4 of a tank left but obviously not, Johann told me it was probably because of when i first got it, the MBC was busted and i was boosting upwards of 20-25lbs , the guy said he had just put a new o2 sensor in it so i dont know, any other suggestions ?

Do you have an A/F ratio gauge? What does it show? What's the fuel line pressure? You need to tune that S-AFC right.

The reason you have HORRIBLE Mileage is because you are Not using an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator with your Walbro 255 Pump. You are running VERY rich.

i got 180 miles to a tank on my first 1g, then i changed my plugs then got 220, then i changed the pcv valve got more (dont rember sorry)....theni crashed it, but yeah, hopefully that might help. plug wires? o2 senosr?

I do believe that the 1g AWD's have a 12 gallon tank and not a 15 gallon tank...someone correct me if I am wrong.

I used to get exactly 180miles per tank, then I through in some STP fuel injector cleaner and then I got about 220per a tank. So this might help your car.

I'm at 155 miles and just about 4 needle widths above 1/4. It was 120 per tank, then I changed the plugs, and put on a K&N, I still need to get the 02 sensor, and PCV, thats next paycheck though. If I stay off the throttle I'm sure I would get at least 220 per tank. But as they say, I drive it like I stole it. And no I've never been pulled over. ;-) Oh we just put on a breather filter from autozone, and the idle dropped from 1100 to a bit over 950. I bet that will cut down on the gas usage on the 2:30 Turbo Timer setting I have.

True, but I didn't like the whole Oil going into the intercooler thing. Thats the main reason I put the filter on.

1G AWD's have a 16 gallon tank.

I have never failed to get 275-325 miles on a tank of gas. What do you guys do? Race from stop to 50 mph on every start? Keep your foot out of it and you will get better mileage. The less time you spend in boost the better gas mileage you will get. Back in the 70s the Chrylser 300 had an Economy guage on the center console (it was a vaccume guage) under part throttle it showed a green arch high vaccume. At WOT it showed a red arch. Low Vaccume AKA bad economy. If that's not it the ECM should be adjusting the injectors pulse to obtain the correct mixture.

thx for the ideas, im gonna go replace aLOL that stuff, he " said " he put a new o2 sensor in before i bought it, but well the wires, u know how they have a " slot " thta goes above the heat shroud on the manifold, well it must have fell off and 2 of hte 4 wires in the shield are melted to nothing so i either have no o2 sensor, or a retarded o2 sensor that dosnt do ne thing LOL

What fun would that be?? :D

I was just joking. Racing all around town is definately not a good idea. But seriously, you gotta feel the boost sometimes or you might as well get a civic--great gas mileage
