Okay here's the story: My clutch has JUST been replaced in my car, I had a Luk Pro gold series installed, since I will be selling the car soon I decided not to put anything way expensive in. Anyways, I got it back 2 days ago and today when I got in it I heard a ticking from the Engine bay? My car was not fully warmed up yet so I didn't think to much about it, well after it warmed up it was still ticking.

It would tick when I reved it up to 2K then after that it would go away, as I shift into 2nd,3rd, 4th, it gets quieter and quieter? Now I have no clue if it has anything to do w/my new clutch, but I am quite concerned.

My car is a 95 Talon Tsi AWD w/ 140K on it. No major mods except a 14b swap. I am very concerned that it could be early signs of crankwalk, because I have been reading up on it and one of the early signs is, ticking :( from the engine bay.

If anyone has ANY clue or info on what this is , it would be greatly appreciated, please post Ideas:talon:

sounds like lifter tick, yours seems to be as bad as mine because although it is warmed up it'll still be ticking a little bit but at very low rpms (going from a stop).

Thanks guys, I had a feeling it was the ol "lifter Tick" im going to try putting in a different oil filter and 10W-30 oil at my next change, and if that doesnt get rid of it, then I geuss its new lifters! if anybody thinks it could be something else, please let me know, thanks:thumb:

anyways, are u sure it isn't the evap solenoid. it makes a constant ticking noise from the engine bay. When i first heard it, i thought i had crankwalk, or lifter noise also, but i found out what it was. Lift your hood, look at the firewall in front of the intake. there should be two relays side by side. it is the one on the left as u are looking at the engine, actually u can touch and feel both just to see if that is what it is. I bet this is your problem. A lot of people freak out about this like i once did. I've seen it here on the forums quite a few time

Later Bro, good luck!
