Sounds Like....rings?

90 awd turbo 16g, 2g mas, new sparkplugs, magnecors, etc etc...cylinders compression tested: #1-120 #2 - 90 #3 - 155ish #4 - 155ish....put a cap of oil into the cylinder 1 and 2 and it raised compression to 150 and 130 respectively. Oil on old plugs....car shutters horribly...when underboost it is more drivable...driving with vacuum makes it ridiculous...feels like constant back-firing barely idles..when warmed up it runs a little better but still barely drivable...barely...any ideas....? no coolant problems...oil pressure good....head gasket or rings...or somethin else...let me knowk ASAP

the compression i would think would be ur rings if u did the oil trick and it rasied it, ur idle problem shouldn't be related to ur compression shoot i have a 89 240sx that has bad piston rings and it idle find and ran fine, just no go in it

here sorry i was in a hurry and wasnt very clear...after it warms up..it occasionally sucks at idling. but when it's warm for the most part it just idles fairly normally. but i did have some oil on 1 or 2 of the spark plugs so...but yeah after warmed i can get it to idle pretty much fine...i think it does sound like rings...hell im replacing it with a new block altogether anyways i just wanted to verify that it isn't anything having to do with the head cept maybe a gasket which is no prob. think a WHOLE block swap should fix it?

ya that would fix it i'm sure unless its a electrical problem. Doubt it, maybe have a leak down test it might just be the head and ur getting blow by from the valves? If it was me i would have it tested before i just drop a new block in, but then agian i'm a poor High School student i don't know what your income is like mine sucks I'm sure yours is higher than mine .

You should check your ignition my car ran like poo when it was cold then when it got warm it would idle rough and under boost it was spuddering. Turned out to be a big hole in the spark plug wire.

Just sharing what i have experince with, but you could be right might just need a new block.. Good luck with it.

yeah thanks...i got big magnecors...ill inspect them but they are sort of new so maybe not the problem...wish it was...haha...yeah my income sux too im a freshman in college and it doesn't get much better for me haha...thanks for your help man...i was gonna run a leak down test but it just doesnt seem like its the valves but oh well its a cheap block and needs replacing anyways....thanks man...
