ok i have a 91 gsx with the following mods evo 3 16g, evo manifold, evo o2 housing, 3" exhaust, 3" downpipe, k&n air filter, walbro 255, crushed bov, no honeycombs, crane cams stage 2 ex. cam. i have only owned this car for 1 month and don't know all the specifics for an auto. i also have a 91 tsi 5 speed, and i'm going forged internals and was wanting to use my 2g pistons that i have in it, but i have heard that the auto has a bigger crank. so i was thinking that the rods wouldn't work is this correct? will the pistons work if i have my rods machined from the auto? or is there some other things that is different? also slowboy racing told me that i could run 550cc in. with a 2g mass and no fuel controller. to me that just doesn't seem correct, is it or not?

ok i was also wondering if anyone had the evo 3 16g on an auto with similliar mods on it? and what there spool up was? i don't have a boost controller on it, but i did have the 34mm wg flapper on the turbo. i'm running 10 psi and my spool up is around 3200 rpms. this seems too lagy for this turbo, is anyone else seeing bad spoolup on these with an auto. i have been looking for a boost leak and have not found one yet, but my vac reads 9-11 in park and 19-22 after hard accelleration and i let off the throttle and let it coast. is this late spoolup just from a boost leak or what? sorry for it being so lengthy, any help would be great
 
ok i've still been searching and i can't find the info needed to tell me if the rods are different or not on an auto. and if i could at least use the pistons and just have the auto rods machined if i can't use the manual rods
 
IM running a ported EVO 3 Exhaust manifold, ported Big 16g w/ internal wastegate, RNR 3" O2 eliminator downpipe, 3" hi-flow cat, mandrel bent piping and 3" inlet/outlet Magnaflow muffler. I also have a K&N filter on stock 1g MAS with upgraded intake pipe. Also upgraded UICP & 2g throttle body elbow. My Auto starts to spool-up at around 2800 rpm and I have full 14 psi by 3300 rpm's. Im guessing you either have a boost leak somewhere, or you need to upgrade your intake and UICP.

-I'm looking at the Mitsu service manual, it only list one measurement for the crank so I think M/T & A/T use the same crank and rods.
 
ok i was also wondering if the head studs for an auto of the same year is the same as the manual head studs? and i had an ur underdrive pulley that came off my manual and it would not go on cause the end of the crank was slightly bigger. is the end of the crank the only diff. or is it the whole crank that is?

all and another thing i've been searching for the trans lab shift kit and have been unsucessfull, any one know where to find this
 
Ok, both motors in the auto and manual cars are identical except for the cams and of course the turbo. Who ever told you that the autos had a different motor is a moron. Both are 4G63 motors.
 
ok i never said that it was a different motor, i was only asking if the crank was bigger or if the rods where different in the auto. and if there not bigger then why wouldn't my unorthodox racing underdrive pulley fit on the crank of my auto and it came off my 5 speed? they are both 91 awd. i was just trying to make sure, before i go and order rings and take them out of my block, that i won't have to have the auto rods machined and i can just use the rods that are out of my manual that are already on the pistons
