I just finished replacing the caps on my ecu. Had all the classic symptoms, loss of power, rapid clicking noise, bad smell. It appeared that one of the caps had been leaking, but no apparent damage to the board. So I replaced the caps, car started up good, but will only run for three or four minutes and starts the old symptoms all over. I don't have access to a code reader. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm still getting the chatter in the EFI relay. Pulled the relay to test it according to the manual, using a 12 volt power supply, and applying jumpers to the indicated pins and testing for voltage across other pins. Only problem is the manual (Haynes) shows a ten pin connection, where the relay only has nine pins. What would be the #1 pin is blank and has no terminal. Am I correct in assuming this is the battery ground terminal, and since there is no terminal it is grounded by the metal case of the EFI relay? I tested the relay based upon this assumptiion using the next pin as #2 and so on, but got absolutely nothing (no voltage) for any of the described tests.
As you may have read in my previous post, I had all the classic capacitor symptoms, idle surge, bad smell, chattering EFI relay, loss of power. I did the cap replacement but am still getting the EFI chatter after the car runs for several minutes, the idle surge is gone though, and fast idle gradually slows as the car warms up.
Any help would be appreciated!!!!
