Oil Pressure Drops, Usually in the Mornings???

Hey whats up everyone, My stock oil pressure gage sometimes reads very low, almost all the way to the bottom. it usually does it in the mornings or when i havnt driven my car for a few days even if it does have oil. sometimes the needle doesnt go back to normal until the end of the day. any suggestions?? once i gave it gas on and of reving the engine and it started to bring the needle back up. i havnt done that no more in case there something wrong. Im thinking bad oil gage, well atleast im hoping. or maybee oil pump.
has anybody had this problem, or can tell me what they think it might be.

Most likely a balky pressure sender.

Thanks Defiant, I was hoping to get a few more responses from people that had the same symptoms, but one from a dsmtuners wiseman is more that good enough. thanks..
im going to take it off and try cleaning it, and clear it from any grim.
