OMG:cry: Where to start.. such a typical DSM night. So I was crusing around with the boys tonight (DSM's of course) and i've always had a grinding problem with 2nd and 3rd. Only way i wouldnt grind is if i let the RPM's drop and then gently pushed it in gear... ok so the incident:

Take off from first, shift to second (grinding like a MOFO) and i cant even get it in gear, so i goto third and my RPM's shot up like i was in neutral (assuming i blew 3rd). I pull over and i cant even get the poor thing to move. After a minute i get it to move for about a good 500 feet then the car shuts off, stuck in gear and that was the end of it. I had it flatbedded home, but when they put it on, i heard a pop come from the car.

Speculation has it that my tranny fluid was low and the tranny ceized. Any ideas and could that pop have been my rear diff snapping or perhaps just the transfer case popping?

Transfer case wasnt recalled, any way this can be covered?

Sounds more like you shifted back into first. I wouldn't guess the damage from here.

No.. it definately wasnt a mis shift.. im the guy he was racing.. and i know what a mis shift looks and sounds like.... i was more like he shreaded the gears...LOL

this is either due to the trans just going due to the gears always grinding..or a fluid problem.. but i doubt this.. we just refilled this...

no heres what im wondering.. it was dragging up the flatbed.. so .. are we thinking its jest because the center dif may be locked , in turn locking the entire drivetrain... or is the T case locked up ...

2nd question... if it blew the tcase.. cant we blame that on the recall... and get it replaced under this..

3rd question... if they do cover the tcase under the recall.. they cover any damages caused by this error correct.. ie trans.. rear dif.. ect.. ???

^^^ BUMP

Well you will not know what seized up until you yank apart your drivetrain and find out. We really cannot help you from here with that little information.

In all honesty, it sounds like a mis-shift which destroyed an already ailing transmission.
