Think My ECU is Done - 90 TSI

First of here is my car.

1990 Talon TSi AWD Manual

The car was running fine but needed some TLC. I replaced the oil feed line, 02 housing, and 02 Sensor on my car.

Now when I start it the car runs great for about 1-2minutes and then the ECU starts clicking like crazy and the car starts to stumble. Sounds like classic ECU failure. But the strange part is it has new CAPs in it. Which I changed about 4 months ago when I installed a TMO like ECU Program. I also switched back to stock when this started happening no luck.

Sound like ECU is dead or other electrical gremlin?

If the idle drops real low this will cause the alternator to not put out enough juice, which might cause the clicking until the RPMs go up or it stalls. Next time this happens at idle, try goosing the gas and see if the clicking and stumbling go away while the revs are up.

Of course, if the relay is clicking like mad when you are on the throttle, I'd take a look at the ECU and make sure there isn't any electrolyte or solder on the system board where it shouldn't be. Chances are you could clean it up.
