eh, rough turnover, white smoke, odd accleration

heya, i havent been around too much recently, but i hope someone could maybe clear some things up for me:

my 95 gsx has about 105K miles on it, but i still use mobil 1 15-50(i think, its with the red lettering that says for peformance and turbos blah blah) but that has never been a problem..

ive just noticed that within the alst 2 or 3 weeks its gotten a lot colder where i am, and when i turn my car up, it has to turn over a few times, then almost sorta stalls out, and then picks up and idles fine.. i let it idle for about a minute or so to warm up, and then i go.. but as i accelerate the rpms drop real low, and i almost stall out; until the turbo hits and then i shoot off spewing out white smoke outta my exhuast..

maybe about 3 minutes later, its drives normal.

anything to worry about?

u could have a "SLOW" headgasket leak so when ur car sits for a while and builds up with anti-freeze its just burning off....i wouldnt be worried about it

actually, i would be a little worried about it....

i had the same thing happen with mine....it wouldnt always blow white smoke, only sometimes in between shifts......a month later, the gaket popped.....couldnt even drive it....right now i have the head off and just got it back from the machine shop for a o-ringing.....if it has a slow leak then evnentually it will pop the head gasket and youll be in the same boat as me quite possibly....

in his situation it ended up bad...in mine i just ended up bringing it 3 weeks later to a shop....so i guess u could get lucky and ride it out for a while or just be shit out of luck....i guess now ide bring it in....how long has this been going on for..

just since it started getting cold over here, maybe about 2 or 3 weeks. i also changed my oil a couple weeks ago, and put my cat-back on about 3 weeks ago. it was warm out the other day, and i didnt really have a problem with it, but last night when it was chilly i was blowin out a lot of white smoke at first. it had a rough start (as usual today) but no smoke, and drove fine

it might be related, but im VACing at about -15 inrg (or whatever it is on the boost gauge) up from my normal -18

sounds like a normal thing to me. Let your car warm up longer, the oils gonna be cold and thick. In my case the thick oil just goes out my tail pipe(bad rings) but your car gets to deal with it. hehe
