I've been having this problem for a while but last night I had it. My car ocassionally is having a hug lag time in boosting and sometimes when I shift gears it s gets lazier but a with a stronger foot on the gas pedal Its gets well a again. ANother thing I'm noticing is that the boost gauge is going below 20 in vacuum when the car is running and I'm not hitting gas or running at neutral. Another thing is that when I hit Full throotle a big cloud of black smoke comes out of the exhaust. Many people had told me that the car is rich in gas and thats why the car has the black cloud thing and that the vacuum thing is that i have leackage. One, i had check for leackage everywhere and how my car can be rich when its at 15psi of boost with the t25. I almost forgot, my car is at 15 psi without any boost contreoller what so ever or any modifications in the turbo or wastegate, it suppose to be at 8 or 9 psi!!!! Please help...

you have a full 2 1/2 with no cat. you're gonna smoke. also you have a 1g bov a FMIC and a k&n which would definitely give you the ability to hit 15. just make a boost controller.

If you're venting to atmosphere, that's probably the cause of all of your problems right there. It can make the car puff black smoke, due to running rich (especially during shifting). It can make the car idle poorly, because at idle, the BOV is open, and you suck air in through it instead of the MAF, which might also be causing your low vacuum readings. It can also cause poor performance after you shift, feeling like turbo lag.

Running rich (IE venting) fouls spark plugs. And once a plug is fouled, it doesn't burn fuel as well in that cylinder, which makes it even more dirty. The wires won't be hurt by that, but it's a good idea to replace just for maintenance anyway.

Even though you've checked for leaks (which is good) a BOV is open at any high vacuum level (including idle, and low cruising speeds).

evrything ur experiencing is pretty much normal...cept maybe the lag in boost...but it is a turbo and they can get sloppy and act weird...

the + -20 at atmosphere (if u didnt understna dhtta anything under -20, like -22 or -24)

is normal....ur engine is creating more vaccuum when in gear crusing with no gas....its perfectly normal

LOL my fault

u said u were expeirencing more than -20 vac pressure...meaning -22 or -26 somethion like that

well thats normal in gear with out an pressure on the gas...it means ur engine is just producing more vaccuum now

Sometimes, you have to kick it to get it to hug you. ;)

Why are you venting your BOV to atmosphere?

change plugs put on new bpr7es ones and put on the recirculation tube back on , still bugging when shifting. Sometimes it works great, but sometimes I shift and is like put in on the brakes a little. Recently I had bad alternator could it be the battery that is bad because the bad alternator could killed it. Another question, I have the stock boost controller ambiental because the ingen tube I have doesnt have the openings to fit the boost controlers tubes to the intake tube, could that be the problem....
