Pistons Good?

Alrite! i was about to do a 6 bolt swap bec i thought i blow a piston or someting bec a noise started coming from my engine! after beating my friends B16 crx with many mods! i smoked him by the way! but i thought i had messed up my engine but yesterday i took of the head and the pistons look fine! there not damaged or anything and my spark plugs did not get smashed or anything! but i noticed somethign on the valves of the head there was a small gap like if they where stuck or someting so i took the head to a machince shop downtown! and they are goign to charge me 100 bucks to clean it up and take a look at it and make sure everything is alrite! but if its not the head what can it be?? my problem is this?? a crazy ass knocking noise or a noise liek clink clink?? sorry if i cant describe the noise but it does not sound good could it be somethig in the block?? i hope its my head i will save my self alot of money so please help me if you now anything! and how much does a 2g head run for if i want to ghet a new one? thanks for your help! have a nice day

You could have spun a rod bearing.
Or maybe a ring land?

There's a lot that might not be appearant. Drop the oil pan and see what's in there. If it's a bunch of brass shavings it was a bearing. If it's a bunch of aluminum it's piston bits. You get the idea....
