boost spike or boost creep

i have my boost controller set to about 16 psi. During these cool fall days, it spikes to about 20 psi then drops down to 17..16...15. During the night is when it gets me worried. Spiking at 24 or 25 psi then dropping down to 17..16...15. Im not hitting fuel cut or anything...

is that boost spike or boost creep..? I need to find out before i mess with fuel controls. Thanx

Boost spike = momentary elevated boost = OK
Boost Creep = sustained elevated boost = Bad

Where do you have your MBC boost source tapped? I have mine at the BOV line. How long is your vacume line run for the MBC. Shorter runs = more accurate boost control.

Also.. where is your Boost Gauge tapped?

my controller is tapped into my compressor housing... and the gauge is connected to fpr solenoid. i have a phantom autometer gauge with a different plug on it, not fitting the standard vaccum line size. it was leaking so i taped it up so it didnt, could that add to the problem?
