96TSi AWD with FP Big28:
My boost gauge appears to be reading inaccurately. It is saying that I am only boosting 9-10PSI, but it still feels like I'm boosting 16 (It was reading fine yesterday). I start to play with my MBC to see if in fact it is my gauge or something else. I crank up the boost, and the turbo spools in a jerky fashion (Like when I was testing out different boost levels and I set it too high). This makes me think that it was in fact boosting over the 16PSI that I had it set at before despite the reading. So, I try the other way, turning it down. The jerkiness goes away and it spools like normal. The gauge still reads 10PSI. I turn it incrimentally down and it stays at 10PSI for a few test runs. Then, I turn it another little bit, and the gauge does in fact start reading under 10 (Like 7PSI). So, I turn it back up. I keep going until I feel the jerky spool again. I turn it back down a little, and it feels like it's pulling plenty good, but it's reading 10PSI again.
Is it possible my gauge won't display past 10PSI and I'm actually boosting higher?
Also, if this means anything, the wiring in my car seems to be really poor. My A/F gauge chills at 100% (As rich as it can read) all the time. Even when I'm idling or accelerating slow. It does it's little dance very rarely and doesn't change position at WOT. My oil pressure gauge just doesn't work. Last time I changed my oil and changed the filter, the gauge started working again. Also, the head unit in my car seems to have a faulty connection in the back. It turns off sometimes; I just tap the front and it will usually turn back on. This problem seems to have dissapeared. Is there perahps some fuse that could be the cause of all these problems? I don't really want diagnosis on these problems (It would be nice); I just thought their existence might be the same reason for the boost gauge inaccuracy.
