I know that someone has proabably posted this question before and i should already know what the hell i'm talking bout before i post, but i'm going crazy and dont feel like looking anymore. I have 95 n/t talon and it stopped running around june... i was driving in my hood and i hear a snap so i get out of the car and my a/c belt has broke which it has done 3 times already. So i'm thinking no big deal just get it replaced again. So i get back in the car to take my friends home and the car wont turn over. It turns on and makes a wierd noise but sounds nowhere near turning over. I take it to the mechanic and i have no compression on all 4 pistons and he has no clue what happen. I had just had my all my belts replaced and new water pump and all that good stuff in january and i had only put about 4K miles on it. Its been up at the mechanics since then because they were putting another engine in it when i got tha money, but it got broken into last night(nothing was stolen luckily) so it was at my house today so i finally got around to looking at it. The valve cover was already unscrewed and disconnected from the intake and manifold for some reason unknown to me. So i take the valve cover off and the things that push the springs down(dont remember what there called sorry my brain is fried) are extremely lose like i could take them out easily with my fingers... all except the third pair and those are tight. I havent checked the cam gears yet, but i was wondering if that things with the cams proves my timing is off without having to check the cam gears. If not is there anyway to check the timing on the cams without taking the timing belt cover off... and again i apologize for reposting the same thing but i looked and couldnt exactly what i was looking for and my head started hurting so i quit LOL sorry for the long post but i'm done finally

Yeah you need to pull the head and take a look at the valve faces and seats and what not.
