Ticking

i ahve a 91 TSI AWD and it seems like everyother time I drive the car I hear ticking. It seems to sound worse or more frequent when cold out. What can I do, should I not drive it at all?

Probably lifters. Upgrade to the newest version from Mits. The noise will tip off the knock sensor to pull timing and rob performance.

sounds like the lifters, if an oil change doesn't solve it go to mitsubishi and get the new lifters

by new lifters what do you mean 3g lifters or brand new first gen lifters?

No. They've made revisions to our cars lifters. They have bigger holes for oil passage now. You can change all of them in about 1 hr. if you're mechanically adept.
