I made the boost leak tester today and i found a max psi of 12lb, even though while I'm driving my Boost gauge says just over 14. Is my Autometer gauge messed up or is this some type of boost creep? All i have for mods is an intake, wires, plugs, and free mods. I'm working on making my own UICP and am waiting on a 1G Bov. I'd have it already but them bastards on E-bay keep outbidding me at the last minute.

so I guess that my problem is a little creep, but it would be nice to have someone confirm or deny.

Your turbo is overcoming the leak, and pumping beyond it. You can only measure creep as a dynamic, trying to spot it with a leak test would be _very_ iffy, and you'd only see it as a fluke.

Buy one of the many BOVs sold in the classifieds here, and avoid snipers.

so am i really hitting 14.5psi while I'm driving? Or is the guage just reading what the turbo is putting out, even though my leaky BOV brings me down to 12?

Im sure your probably only running 12lbs but like definat said buy a new bov.... even a 1g bov is better then that 2g one your rockin now.

If you need the 1g bov adapter let me know cause I have one. I never tossed it and Id gladly sell it to ya.

You're probably getting the actual 14.5 while driving. The difference between when testing and when driving is the supply. When you're testing, you're probably using either a bike pump, or a pneumatic hose of some sorts, which can't provide nearly as much volume as a turbo can... So, the turbo can push more air faster than it can leak out, and you get more PSI than when you test.
