San Diego,
Hey all- I have a built 2g with a Green turbo. I have all the fun fixings to go along with the turbo, 550, SAFC, Head Work, Cams, DP, EXHST, FMIC, Nology Wires and NGK's. My issue here is that when I come into mid to heavy boost the car seems to cut out or kick back at me. If I stay on the gas and bring it into boost quickly it will cut out and keep cutting out till I let off the gas. I can not tell if this is from Mis Fire, Fuel cut, exhaust leak or what. ANy one have any advise? Thanks in advance. Ian #2 98 GStGreen:confused:

I am running a set of 550cc RC's and an SAFC, new Factory fuel filter and an AEM Fuel rail. How can I over come this problem of hitting the fuel cut? Bigger intercooler? Or is it time to invest in a stand alone. Should I try running race gas and seeing if it hits the cut still? Thanks Ian#2 98GStGreen

You could try hacking the MAS, which in my opinion may cause more grief in the long run. This way the ECU is seeing "less" air. A bigger intercooler will more than likely not help fuel cut.

You should really get a logger and see exactly what the ECU is seeing. How much air the ECU is seeing? What boost are you running? Turning it down will also eliminate the probelm.

You have to trick the ECU into believing there is less air entering the engine. You can do this with various things such as a vein pressure convertor, air fuel controller and air fuel regulator. Play around with a logger, boost levels, and your SAFC and see if you can eliminate the problem.

*Fuel cut is due to the amount of air entering the engine, don't let me throw you off by asking what type of fuel system you have, I was just curious.*

after installing a ported big 16g my car is doing the same thing. i have turned my boost down until i have the supporting modifications (550's, fuel pump, SAFC) to handle all the extra air.

LOL. A larger fmic wont change fuel cut. Fuel cut is too much air,not enough fuel to mix with that air. You're either running WAY to lean and are hitting mad fuel cut which will blow yer engine sooner or later OR you need to check yer plugs. If you're running RICH and plugs are fouled it'll feel like sputtering under high boost (like a step below fuel cut). Check your duty cycles, a logger is really what u need.

Check yer plugs first...i bet you its your ngk's....

Guys- Thanks for the help. I just changed the plugs and it stopped doing this cut out. So I think I am running way rich. I am going to take the car up to Road Race and have them set up my SAFC and check out my set up and tell me what I need next. The car has not been on the dyno for a few months and I have done allot of other work that needs to all get tuned andworking together. Thanks again and MCCURDY, you hit it on th enose thanks.
