Car Dying.. Plz HELP! (ECU/ECM/PSM Related Problems...)

95 N/T GS Manual. No Mods.
Got the car 3 months ago... got all the maintaince tune-ups etc.. car was fine until 3 weeks ago... engine kept turning off while i was driving the car.. any time.. any speed... and then it won't start for a while.. starts whenver it feels like... took it to a local workshop... they replaced the ECU.. charged me crazy labor..

now.. engine doesn't shuts off anymore at all.. car starts fines.. BUT.. now it stumbles/hesitates when i try to accelerate.. any gear.. any speed... specially around low rpm... this car won't accelerate at all... so slow and strugles so much.. it wasn't like this before the ECU replacement... i ordered the part myself from some place called ECM World.. for $300...

I dont know if this is related.. but check engine light has been on since i got this car 3 months ago.. code 36 - "replace map sensor" - which i did yesterday.. reset the check engine light but it comes back on within few seconds with the same problem code.

plz save me and my car.. or i'm gonna end up taking to the damn dealership and get ripped off.

You should look at the board itself and see if it is the ECU. You can tell if has been burnt or something has gotton on it b/c it will be discolored compared to the rest of the board. If it has a hole in it, I think the problem is obvious.

I think you have already been ripped off b/c it is not hard to replace an ECU, just a few mounting bolts and like 3 harnesses.

I would also go back to the mechanics shop and try to get the old ECU (they may have just cleared the one in it and gave it back). I don't trust many, if any, mechanic shops b/c I've never seen any kind of certification or degree() of theirs.
