ive got a 90 talon tsi. it smokes black, hard to start, stalls, misses, dont rev very high u can here the timing belt, like its loose or something but its tight, drive down the road sometimes it jerks,it doesnt wanna run. im tired of working on it.l the timing belt was loose, so i took it off to get everything back in time when i tried to turn the oil ballance shaft it wouldnt turn like its supposed to. i did it a couple times before and it was ok, now it was sorta hard to turn, wouldnt turn back, anything. i was tired of messing with it so i parked it. im selling it cheap to w a 90 laser turbo but no engine. so if anyones interested even a little let me know. it just makes me sick

Not to discredit your work, but are you sure you did the timing belt properly? A quick test to check the timing belt properly is to line up the camgears, dowel pins up. Stick a screwdriver between the camgear marks. If the blade of the screwdriver hits the valve cover gasket, its good. Also how is the timing? Check that too.

yes im sure i did the timing right. when i first got it together it ran fine but still made that annoying timing belt noise. i shut it off, checked to see how tight it was and it was very tight. all the way round, front and both sides. i drove it out the road came back and it was loose a little. i started it up, let it run for a minute, shut it off and it was tight? youve got me. it was still in time and everything all the belts and tentioners were new so i drove it about 15 miles came back and it started missing jerking, all that. stupid but i was sick of it and didnt care if it blew up when i took it out the road i drove it easy, put so much money into it im ready to sell it a whole bunch of parts and a 90 laser w no engine for the first $1000 dollars in my hand
