how to get aftermarket filter on?

like the subject says... how do you put on an aftermarket air filter and what extra parts are needed besides the filter thanks??? maybe some intructions

You can get a K&N drop-in filter that uses the standard intake, or you open up the filter box, unplug the MAS, take off the recirculation tube, crankcase vent tube, BCS tube and vapor recovery tube, loosen the clamp on the turbo intake and remove the intake tube and MAS. Remove the three bolts in the bottom of the original air intake box, and remove that half of the box. Unbolt the top half of the box from the nose of the MAS, and your new cone filter should have come with an adapter that goes on in its place. You want one with the larger adapter:

and yes, eBay filters are just as good as the K&N. If not provided, you'll also want to make a brace to hold the filter up, and the heat shielding in the post above is really kinda optional.

While you have the intake tube off, also cut off the end of the recirculation tube that extends down its throat. You'll gain a couple horsepower on the assometer, and get to hear the mighty sniff of the T-25.
