Since day one of a having my car i have only actually heard my 1g BOV a couple of times. I figured i didnt hear it because of how far away the air gets recirculated from the air filter. So the other day i spent about $40 buck and threw together my own 3" intake pipe, and now it recirclutates right next to the MAS, and still there is no sound even under full boost. So i did a test and didnt recirculate, and the no matter how fast i shifted or how hard i drove it the BOV let the air out in a very slow Psssssshh, instead of a really fast Pssssshhhh like you would expect under full boost. I also noticed that if im in 1st or 2nd or 3rd gear and i give it some gas and the turbo starts to spool and i let off real quick the car shutters increadibly hard, like the BOV didnt release the air at all or very little if any. So based on all this stuff, does it sound like my BOV is in need of a replacement, and if so what BOV would you recommend?

wanna trade bov's? mine is staying open. I would recommend getting the tial bov, it's a little pricey but it's the best out there

I don't think he needs to vent.

That has NOTHING to do with anything here.

Don't give any technical advice unless you have first-hand experience on the subject.

Back to the TOPIC...

I would do a leak test, and maybe try swapping out a known good BOV with a friend for a test pull or two.

Ya.. ill see if one of my friends will let me use their BOV for a test run and see if that is my problem, and i may very well have a boost leak, because im not getting 14 psi anymore its dropped considerable.

That may very well be it. Post the results of the test/swap.

Ok.... so i made the boost leak tester today and i hooked it up, and before it even let any presure build up i noticed two leaking sounds from two vacuum lines both going to the intake manifold. One i replaced and the other i cut after the leak and reconnected. then we tested again and i hear a sound coming from near the lower intercooler piping, and it turned out the to be the "T" for the vacuum lines near there. so then we tested again and we heard a leak near the TB elbow, so we took it off and used some sealent and put it back on and we still heard it, we then figured out it was coming from the the device that is opened and closed by the throttle cable. So thats where we are now, any ideas or suggestions??? do i need a new throttle body????

That’s funny because mine leaks when it sits at closed but doesn’t when you open it, only when fully closed. And it only starts to leak at like 12psi and it is just faint. Do you think I really need to replace the throttle body seals or do you think its ok? Thanks
