ok, my car has been in the shop at a chrysler dealership for a while, they were fixing a few things because of a loud squalling noise coming from the area where the ac compressor is. so it ended up being that they had to replace the ac copressor, the serpentine belt tensioner, and they also replaced a bunch of gaskets due to oil leaks, and they replaced the valve cover. well i thought everything would be fine when i picked the car up. however, when i actually did pick it up, it still made that noise! i was so mad, well the guy said that there was probably something on the belt, like oil or something, and it may need replaced, i'm like wtf, why didnt you replace it in the first place you idiot. so i just leave and take the highway home, and as soon as i hit 2nd gear, BAM no power steering, the car wants to stall, and it starts to overheat. RIght away i knew it was the serpentine belt that blew. needless to say it was very hard for me to get home without blowing a headgasket. all in all it was a bad experience, but i replaced the belt and its ok now. but i think it was the dealers fautl because they should have said that it was in that bad of a condition that it could have blown like that. if anyone has had a similar experience feel free to discuss this
Why was it hard to make it home without blowing a headgasket? Your powersteering belt has nothing to dco with the powersteering gasket. Oh, and the dealership raped you. Why would they have to replace your valve cover? I bet they charged you a arm and a leg for that. I thought that the AC compressors were about $400 for our cars. You were having AC work done at the same time? I can't imagine your bill when you left the dealership. The serpentine belt tensioner? What is that? Your timing belt tensioner maybe?
