alright well here is another question just for fun i pulled off the blow off valve tube that runs back into the intake just to see what it would sound like. well when i did that my car when it would idle down would almost die, so i was wondering if there was anyway to vent to the atmosphere withthe stock bov or if you cant or if it will hurt my car and when i put my new bov on that im getting will that do the same thing that my stock one did.:talon: :thumb:

if you vent to atmosphere, sometimes your car will RUN ok, but it will not be running as it should... for example.. i had mine running ok vented... ran 14.6 in the quarter... i plumbed it back in, and ran 14.0.

You dump all sorts of fuel into the cylinders when the MAF counts the air, then the BOV dumps it out.... so your computer calculated how much fuel for the air in the system... but then the air is no longer there... thus, a rich condition when your bov lets loose.

If you get rid of the MAF and get a speed density monitored intake system, like a VPC or standalone management, then you can vent to atmosphere.

so will it hurt anything if i do run it with the bov opened up and close off the tube running into the intake or is it just a bad idea until i get those mods you talked about done. because if it isn't going to hurt anything then im just going to run it like that.:talon:
