Here goes the story...

On a 92' Talon AWD with JDM 6 Bolt Swap, 3" Catback, Hacked MAS and intake pipe.

I was driving through town at about 25 mph, just listening to my music. All of the sudden, my car misfires, and bucks. I head "clicking," or "snapping" noise from my ECM. The car dies, so I pull it into a gas station, and pop the hood. I check and make sure I didn't ground the battery on the hood and spike my ECU, that didn't happen. So I get back in and it starts right back up. It doesn't pull as hard now, and I smell something "fishy." I pull it into my garage, and turn it off. Disconnected the battery to reset the ECU. When I head to work it won't start, no spark.

Ok, now I know my caps went in my ECU, so I got a remanufactured ECU same number (MD166262) for free at work. I slapped the new ECU in and I get good spark, but it has a hard time starting, I have to feather the gas to get it to turn over. Still doesn't pull as hard as it use too...

So the question to you DSMer is why is my fuel system not priming? Did I blow some relay? If anyone has any suggestion to why my car doesn't pull as hard as it used too, let me know. Thanks.

your fuel filter might be clogged up.or you fuel pump is wearing down.it is something with the fuel it sounds like.just try changing your fuel filter and try a fuel pump.it might work.let me know what happens

Is there any coolant in the oil? Does the car run smooth under boost? Have you run a compression test recently?

I grabbed a 255LPH pump, and a fuel filter from work. I'll let you know tommorow. I have checked the oil, no coolant. After work the car would starting without giving it any throttle, but it would just shut off quickly at 500 RPM. Then I would crank it, and give it throttle and it runs fine. It's smooth boost, but flattens out about 5K, it could be in my head. I suspect a fuel pump relay, because it will start fine when I hear a "click" from the dash, not ECU sounds. Where is the relay located anyone know? Thanks for the help.

Was this problem ever fixed Tyler? I am now in the same boat your are or were in. Let me know. Thanks.
