OK, so I was stopped at a stop sign, started going, and the cluthch stuck down about an inch off of the floor. I was like WTF!?!?! It was partially grabbing, so i pulled through the intersection, and popped it out with my foot once through. (I was about 4 blocks away from a friend's house). It shifted fine after that one sticking incident, but then when i was coasting with it in, it makes this bad squealing sound, almost like my power steering pump is bad. It does this when i'm idling in the driveway, and the RPM's drop a little. I'm really friggin paranoid that I have the Dreaded CW. I JUST bought this car, and it checked out at my mechanic.

There is no oil anywhere on the dead pedal or on the clutch pedal.

HELP!!! If this makes my car undriveable, I'm stuck, an hour and a half away from school. (I just came back today to work).

What happened???

UPDATE: I went to drive it up the block and back, and the problem is extremely similar to what others have posted with this problem.

The car's mileage is about 57250, and now the clutch wants to stick at about half way when i shift. The squealing sound is still there when the clutch is in, so i'm hoping its just the master cylinder. I'm gonna get it towed tomorrow and have it looked at. Wish me luck.

P.S. This really sucks to have happen to a car that i bought not even a month ago, and haven't even put 1K miles on yet......:(

I got the bad news today, the guy in the service dept called and said it looked like some part of the clutch came unglued? He also said that it looked like there was some kind of rubber contaminant in the fluid, and he didn't know what else (if anything) was wrong yet, but he said he'd have to check to see if anything else broke/self destructed.

What do you guys think happened??? Should I be raising hell about a possible defective part?

The estimate so far just for that was about 1500.....

So I told him I was looking at getting a high performance clutch anyways and asked if they would do the work putting it in if I brought them the parts. Looks like I'm getting my 2600 a little earlier than expected.....
