vac leak

hey guys im a little ticked off because my car is running like crap and my vac is at like 13 at idel, what could this be and how could i find the leak with out pressuizing the hole thing. when i get off the gas my vac is at 20, so could my vac just be that at idel or what, almost all my friends cars and everyone i talk to is at 18 or so

Definitly a vaccume leak. Have you taken apart your throttle body lately? check for leaks through the intakes or your vaccume lines.

I Have the same problem..... I was looking for leaks, but not found anything. . . . . I don"t know what I can make to solve the problem

to seek for leaks you can use spray of carburetor cleaner or fine oil on places where you suspect of leaks if the idle it is problably leak.

By all means do this test. I'm having troubles with my Turbo no making boost. I did this test to eliminate leaks in the intake, which I did and found a bad vacuum line as a bi-product. One thing, rather than use a piece of radiator hose, they make rubber couplers for connect PVC pipe (for use on basement sump pumps and such). They come in a 2.5" diameter with clamps and everything for like $2. The whole deal will cost you like $3 and takes about five minutes to make. Connecting it can be a bit of a pain but its worth it.

ok my screw from the t/b (upper right one) is coming out and i screw it in and comes back out but it wont grip i dont know if it is scripped or if the actuall t/b is stripped would this be my vac leak. ive check all my clamps and they are all tight
